There were several agreements on whose basis the merger fructified.
What happens when the agreements (Gentlemen's agreement, GO 36, GO610, Mulki rules etc.) are not honored? common sense, legality and dharma would recommend de-merger.
The demand today is de-merger, even Nehru had gone on record predicting this possibility and supporting so called divorce.
A note on the agreements: the agreements were needed to ensure that Andhras do not colonize the Telangana region. (Colonize is the word used by Fazal Ali, the chairman of first States Reorganization Commission)
How do you oppose this de-merger?
Tell people why the agreements could not be honored, and what benefit will accrue to people of Telangana if they do not demand de-merger.
Instead of commonsense response, we hear nonsense in the form of following oppositions.
I will list the oppositions, and then give my understanding of these oppositions
Opposition1: discredit, and demolish people who speak for creation of Telangana State. (KCR being called words, M.Y.Goud being denied ticket, K.V.Reddy being issued show cause notice etc. )
My Response: if KCR says
Statement1: "Telangana is being deprived of its rightful share of jobs and water and electricity."
Statement2: "Andhras are thieves, looting the resources that rightfully belong to Telangana."
Why do you have to respond to statement2 alone, please respond to statement1, and even if you choose to respond to statement2, please clarify how you are not looting. (respond to the GO
Opposition2: Trivialize the issue (raise a demand for separate Rayalseema, separate UttarAndhra, Minorities welfare etc. thereby projecting the demand as one among several trivial demands)
My Response: Why is it that these demands appear on the scene only when Telangana demand is heard, and these demands are lost when Telangana is actually granted. Had these demands been genuine, their demand should have grown much more vociferous like Vidarbha or Gorkhaland.
Regarding Minorities Welfare, while Jamat-e-islami supports formation of Telangana, people who are neither muslim, nor Telanganaites are worried that minorities will not be safe.
Opposition3: Raise a Demand for United Andhra Pradesh (So called samaykhya Andhra, hilariously no body from Telangana Region is part of this demand, yet they want to stay united with Telangana)
My Response: When Unification of Germany happened, there were negotiations with all the regions concerned and only then the unification happened. When east bengal and west bengal were merger, there was such demand from both sides.
This is utter nonsense that only people from one region would burn their buses, kill themselves for being united with other region that wants to get separated.
This is like the one-side lust where the man wants to f*** a woman irrespective of whether she likes it or not. if you don't let him f***, he will go on an indefinite hunger strike like the great Mahatma Gandhi
Opposition4: Economic loss (Industries in Hyderabad will migrate to better places where there are no bandhs, as if bandhs in Hyderabad will remain for eternity)
My Response: During YSR Govt's time Volkswagen, Nano etc were lost. Satyam collapsed. large scale illegal mining activitis flourished. and no company worth its name came to AP. Why did not these industry chamchas ask YSR to resign then?
Bandhs and strikes, are the procedures that even supreme court has granted to people to express their dissatisfaction with establishment. these happen everywhere,
There is only one way to stop bandhs in Hyderabad, ask Government of India to speedily form Telangana state.
Opposition5: Small States do not develop(Madhu Kodas will appear on the scene)
My Response: Jharkhand should only be compared with Bihar. statistics reveal that Jharkhand is growing much faster than Bihar, chattisgarh much faster than Madhya Pradesh, and uttarakhand much faster than UP.
for a corruption scam to come to light, it is not as if it happens only in smaller states.
Why is there a scam called 3G licenses scam in GOI?
Why is there a mining scam in AP and karnataka?
The issue is not about small-states.
Opposition6: People in Andhra will not get their pensions, water and electricity
Ridiculous, should be treated with all the contempt at my command.
